Mike Miller, DVM, Owner, Medical Director

Dr. Mike Miller joined Duluth Animal Hospital in 1994. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and attended the University of California, Davis where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science and Agriculture. Dr. Miller received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. After graduation, he completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at North Carolina State University.

In 2004, Dr. Miller purchased Duluth Animal Hospital from its founder, Dr. Dickinson. He enjoys keeping the clients, patients, and staff in the best of care! In addition to veterinary medicine, Dr. Miller enjoys fishing, reading, skiing and spending time with his family.

Beth Niagro, DVM, MS

Dr. Beth Niagro joined Duluth Animal Hospital in 1997. She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, where she also completed an internship. Dr. Niagro received her Master of Science degree in Applied Biology and Physiology from the University of South Carolina and began working at Duluth Animal Hospital back in 1997. Her veterinary special interests include ultrasonography and internal medicine.

At home, Dr. Niagro has two pets: an adorable Papillion named Skipper and a cat named Shante. Her personal interests include reading, watching movies, and vacationing—especially to the beach!

Corby Holson, DVM

Dr. Corby Holson joined Duluth Animal Hospital in 2008. Born and raised in South Carolina, Dr. Holson received her Bachelor of Science degree from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. She went on to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from University of Georgia School of Veterinary Medicine, where she received an award for excellence in small animal medicine and surgery, as well as the Avian Medicine Excellence Award.

Dr. Holson's special interests include soft tissue surgery, behavior and dermatology. She holds a certification in veterinary acupuncture and is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association. At home, Dr. Holson is an avid runner and enjoys traveling and outdoor activities with her husband David and their dogs Alfie, Pippin and Sprinkle Donut.

Kathleen Diehl, DVM

Dr. Kathleen Diehl joined Duluth Animal Hospital in 2011. Originally from Central Florida, Dr. Diehl began her career in the animal-care field as a veterinary technician for several years at a specialty practice in Georgia. She then received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Kennesaw and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. Her professional interests include orthopedics and ultrasound.

At home, Dr. Diehl lives with her husband, four children, dogs, cats and pet rats. She enjoys cooking, reading, weightlifting and spending time with her family.

Wendy Sokol, DVM

Dr. Wendy Sokol joined Duluth Animal Hospital in 2015. Dr. Sokol was born and raised in New Jersey and has lived most of her life on the Jersey Shore. She attended Emory University where she earned dual degrees in biology and philosophy. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine.

Before joining the medical team at Duluth Animal Hospital, Dr. Sokol previously owned her own practice for 15 years. Her areas of special interest are oncology (chemotherapy) and dermatology—especially treating pets with severe allergies. In her free time, Dr. Sokol enjoys spending time with her two children and traveling to the beach.

Sandy Higgins, DVM

Dr. Sandy Higgins joined Duluth Animal Hospital in 2016. Dr. Higgins earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Dance from Brenau University in Gainesville, Georgia. She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine.

Prior to joining Duluth Animal Hospital, Dr. Higgins practiced in Suwanee and did emergency and critical care work in Atlanta. Her professional interests include feline medicine and critical care.

Dr. Higgins and her husband live with their two dogs—a black lab named Brian and a hound named Ellie—and three cats named Slinky, Max, and Bernie. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Higgins enjoys spending time with her family, dancing and doing home renovations.
